Billy Eugene Thompson, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday September 26, 2019. He died peacefully at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, IN surrounded by his loved ones, family and friends.

Billy was born on August 27, 1946 in Clarksville, TN. He was the only child of Emma Dee Thompson and Andrew Thompson who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Burt High School in Clarksville where he played football and played the drums in the band. After attending Tennessee State University, Billy worked for a short time and went on to enlist in the U.S. Army serving for 4 years before being honorably discharged.

Throughout his life, Billy has worked as a school bus driver, at the Hopkinsville State Hospital, as a driver for a mail service and most recently at Earle C. Clements Job Corps. He loved music especially R&B which he enjoyed listening to with his large collection of CD’s. Billy also enjoyed watching sports on TV and his favorite show “In the Heat of the Night”.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 47 years: Mae E. Catlett Thompson; sons: Marwin Thompson, Cedric Thompson; stepson: Corey Catlett; daughters: Alethea Thompson, Cheryl Talley; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.
