Rev. Billy Ray Parchman, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday morning December 28, 2017 after a hard- fought battle with illness. The Rev, as he was known, will be greatly missed and loved. He had his own sense of humor and many friendships. He turned his life over to Jesus, accepted the call to preach, and was ordained in July 2010. Rev. Billy later founded Elijah Missionary Baptist Church where he was the pastor. He was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church and attended until his health prevented him from doing so.
Rev. Billy was a native of Clarksville, TN. He was employed as a truck driver and retired from Uniroyal Master Tire. He was also a property owner. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques and working on old cars.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Elodia Parchman; daughter: Lisa Roach (Eugene) of Clarksville, TN; sons: Darrin l. Parchman (Geneva) of Clarksville, TN, Billy Ray Parchman, Jr. (Shirley) of Taylorsville, MS, Darren Parchman (Katrina); 1 stepson: Courtney Dixon, Sr. of Evansville. grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospital staff 2nd floor Unit 2600, Kindred Hospice, Ann Jones, Sheri Hine, Jan Johnson, and Jan Potts; 2 grandchildren: Courtney Dixon III, Ann Parker (Donnie), Arthur Fingers, Jr. for their care.
