Belinda Faye Lander,69, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on June 20, 2022. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 12, 1953, to the late Helen (Borgan) Byrd and the late Douglas Lander, Sr. She was educated in the Evansville Vanderburgh County school system and graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School. She had been employed at Circle K as a cashier.
Belinda was the eldest of her 14 siblings. She was a loving mother to her son Cory Tyus and daughter Amber Lander. She was a wonderful woman, mother, sister, grandmother, and person whose smile could light up a whole room. She loved to dance, listen to music, and take care of her family. Everybody knew she could throw down in the kitchen, especially when cooking her famous sweet potato pie. Overall, Belinda was easy to talk to and a delight to be around. She was loved and will be deeply missed forever and always.
Belinda is predeceased by her mother: Helen Byrd; father: Douglas Lander, Sr.; siblings: Geno Rankin, Desi Rankin, Michale Rankin, Regina Rankin, and Lanitia Rankin.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children: Cory Tyus and Amber Lander; sisters: Tracena Rankin, Debra Roach, Megan Rankin, and Maretta Lander; brothers: DeWayne Rankin, Fletcher Byrd, Douglas Lander, Jr., Rev. Randall Lander, Sr., and Damarius Lander; grandchildren: Tari’k Tyus, Korshae’ Tyus, Demetrius Robertson, and Taki'a Roberts.
