Barbara Jean (Eaves) Golder, also known as “Tunkie,” was born in Greenville, Kentucky on August 28, 1946 to Floyd Eaves and Birdie Mae Wells. She went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2016.
Barbara graduated from Drakesboro Community High School in 1964. She resided most of her adult life in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was employed at GM.
Barbara confessed her belief in Jesus Christ at an early age at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville, Kentucky.
Barbara loved having a good time and lived life to the fullest. She loved to be around her family and friends whenever she could. She was the life of the party and truly one of a kind. Our precious Barbara will be missed by all. She will forever be in our hearts.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Birdie Mae Wells; her father, Floyd Eaves; her step-mother, Hazel K. Eaves; her son, Gerald Eldridge; one sister, Esterline Hurt; four brothers: Shelley Eaves, William Mitchell, James Eaves, Herman Wells; five uncles: Leslie Wells, Shelly Wells, Tye Wells, Bernice Wells, and Franklin Wells; two aunts, Gertrude Drake and Margaret Lovan; two nieces, Theresa Holmes and Serphina Wells.
Barbara leaves to honor her memory: two sons, Charlie (Helen) Eaves, Greenville, Kentucky and Demetrius (Bernadette) Crowe, Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Izetta Tutt, Greenville, Kentucky; one brother, Wendell (Regina) Eaves, Greenville, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Eaves, Joyce Wells and Lucille Harris, Greenville, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 1:00pm at Wesley Chapel AME Church in Greenville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time. Burial in Reynolds Cemetery. Mason & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at
