Archie Bass

Archie Bass was born January 9, 1968, to the late Robert Lee Bass and late Averis Tella Bass, in Madisonville, Kentucky, where Archie was also raised. Archie attended and was baptized at Eastview Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was engaged in numerous activities while attending Madisonville, North Hopkins High School. Some of his activities included Cross Country Track and Mixed Chorus. Archie very much enjoyed spending time with his friends throughout his childhood and teenage years.

Archie entered military service June 2, 1986. He spent time briefly in the United States Army before transferring over to the United States Navy. He proudly served the Navy in Norfolk, VA and also served on the USS Iowa. Archie was aboard the Iowa April 19, 1989, when an explosion ripped through the number two, gun turret, killing 47 of his fellow crewmen. He completed his military service and was honorably discharge 5/17/1991.

After his discharge, he worked for several different companies in Evansville, Indiana, with the most recent being Berry Global.
Archie, until his death, continued to enjoy spending time with his friends. He also very much enjoyed taking his dog on walks. He spent time, whenever he could snatch a moment to fish, which was one of his favorite pastimes.

Archie was preceded in death by his father: Robert Lee Bass; his mother: Averis Tella Bass; his brothers: Joseph and Alfred Boatwright. He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother: Robert Bass (Michele) of Tampa, Florida; sister: Priscella Thompson (Raahn) of Charlotte, NC; brothers: Willie Boatwright (Kelly) of Farrell, Pennsylvania, Howard Boatwright (Mae) of Sharon, Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces and nephews.
