Anna Lee Minor

Anna Lee Minor, 95, departed this life at the Hamilton Pointe rehabilitation center in Newburgh, IN, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, after a brief illness. Anna was born to Sam and Ophelia Wimsatt on April 26, 1928, in Evansville, IN, and was a lifelong resident.
She was a devoted follower of Christ and a faithful member of the First Ebenezer Baptist Church for most of her life where she sang in the choir, served on the Mother’s Board, and attended weekly prayer meetings. Late in life, she began attending Memorial Baptist Church on a regular basis until it got too difficult for her to worship in person. She loved singing and listening to gospel music and though life slowed her down in her community worship, she never lost her praise and never ceased to be a strong prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents Sam and Ophelia Wimsatt, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Minor; children: Henry (Boonie) Minor, Mary (Moogie) Williams, Eddie Minor; grandchildren: Michael (Chunky) Stewart, Rico Stewart, Delvin Williams, Jimmy Banks, and Anthony Williams; and sisters: Margie (Wimp) Lash, Cordelia Ussery, and Mary Scott.
Anna will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by 7 of her children: Patricia Banks (James), Evansville; Thomas Minor, Evansville; Jeanetta Cheatem, Evansville; Henrietta Stewart, Evansville; Debbie Williams (David), Colorado; Ron Minor (Donna), Evansville, and Colister (Lanie) Minor, Evansville; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
