Amplies Slaton

Amplies W. Slaton lll, age 57, of Madisonville, KY. was born August 10,1963 in Hopkins County to the late Amplies Slaton, Jr. and Wanda J. Davis Slaton. He departed this life at 1:45 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Amplies was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY. He was a former employee at Wal-Mart as a stocker in Lexington, KY.

Amplies graduated from Madisonville North Hopkins High School in 1983. He was a gifted and talented basketball and baseball player. He had a love of sports and was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda J. Davis Slaton; father, Amplies W. Slaton Jr.; and brother, Kerry Slaton.

Amplies leaves to cherish his memory, five sons: Brandon Wright and Devine Wright of Madisonville, KY, Terry Wright of Evansville, IN; DeMaris Pettus and Amplies W. Slaton IV of Lexington, KY; brother: Antonio (Kelli) Martin of Las Vegas, NV; sister: Kellie Terry of Indianapolis, IN; great-aunts: Shirley Davis and Joan Marie Nichols; uncles: Albert "Bubba" Davis, Jr. of Paris TX, Henry L. Davis, and Keith (Karen) McNary all of Madisonville, KY; Kyle (Cheri) McNary, Larry (Valarie) McNary, and Mike (Lisa) McNary all of Madisonville, KY; aunts: Linda Chastine, Yvonne Cox of Huntsville, AL, and Joanne Eaves of Madisonville, KY, Tara McNary of Lexington, KY, Jacqueline Middleton of Austin,TX, and Ruby Nell Taylor of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be Saturday, February 13, 2:00 p.m. at Mason and Sons Funeral Home, Madisonville, KY. Visitation will be from noon until service time.

Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced
