Alois Bushrod

Alois (Al) Edward Bushrod was born September 15, 1930 in Henderson, KY to the late Morris Bushrod, Sr. and the late Margaret (Maggie Clark) Bushrod. Alois died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on February 10, 2021.
Alois was a strong hard-working man who always provided for his family. He never met a stranger. He served in the Army and during the years, he worked for CNI Railroad, Barger Engineering and retired from Sears.
Alois was married to the love of his life, the late Ola Mae Wolfe. He is also preceded in death by daughter: Sharon Elaine Bushrod; daughter-in-law: Diana Bushrod; sisters: Peggy Sue Bushrod, Vina Mae Leachman, and Marie Gentry; brothers: William C Bushrod, Calvin Bushrod, Leon Bushrod, Benjamin “Bennie” Bushrod, Morris Bushrod, Jr., Eugene Bushrod, Ira Charles Bushrod, James “Hooks” Bushrod, and Theodore Bushrod.
Alois is survived by his sons: Anthony R. Bushrod (Kimberly) and William Calvin Bushrod of Evansville; daughter: Linda Guest (James) of Columbus, GA; brother: Alvin Bushrod of Rochester, MN; grandchildren: Andrea Bushrod Sebree (Brandon), Rayna Bushrod, Brian Merriweather, and Randy Fox (Dianna) all of Evansville, Jamesetta Bushrod of Clarksville, TN; Anitra Young of San Antonio,TX, LaToya Sanders (Gary) of Columbus, GA, and Rodney Kyle Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; great-grandchildren: Brandon Schaeffer, Andrew Schaeffer, Mahogany Hawthorn, Malaya Hawthorn, Andre Hawthorn, Dalvon Britton, and Caulin Merriweather all of Evansville; Alyssa Miller and India Young of San Antonio, TX; Rashaun Miller, Jasmine Sanders, and Jeleah Sanders of Columbus, GA, Koran Young of Atlanta, GA, Jada Kyle of Spring Arbor, MI, and Ga’Mylah Perry of Grand Rapids, MI. Great-great grandchildren: King Kyle and Saniyah Moore of San Antonio, TX; and a host of family and friends and his trusted companion & protector Jewel (the dog).
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for the care they provided for Alois and a special thanks to Brian Merriweather for being a great caregiver to his grandpa.
Services will be Monday, February 22, 2021 at Eastview Baptist Church. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the funeral will be at 11:30. Burial at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services entrusted to R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel.
Due to Covid-19, masks are required and social distancing will be practiced.
