Agnes Marie Taylor

Agnes M. Taylor, 74, was born on February 25, 1949, to the late John and Nettie Ussery in Clarksville, Tennessee. Agnes passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024. As a child, the family moved to Evansville, Indiana which would later become her lifelong home. Agnes was educated in the Vanderburgh School Corporation. She attended Saint Rita, Stanley Hall, and graduated from Bosse High School in 1967. After graduation, Agnes acquired her first job at Whirlpool. She began working for the Social Security Administration in 1980 and would have celebrated 45 years of service in July 2024. She never retired. Agnes accepted Christ as her personal savior and praised the Lord up until her death. Agnes was so faithful in her faith walk with Christ that she introduced her parents to their family church home at New Hope Baptist Church. As an adult, she transferred her membership to Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the choir for many years where she enjoyed singing and praising God. Agnes also participated in the Women of Praise Choir. In addition, she enjoyed attending and participating in the Precept Bible Study classes. On May 25, 1971, Agnes married Donald H. Taylor, Sr. and to this union, they had two children, Donald H. Taylor, Jr. (deceased) and Adrienne Clotman. Agnes absolutely loved being a mother and grandmother. She worked at being an active grandmother in the lives of her grandchildren because she made sure that she was present for birthday parties, important events, and family vacations. She was an active user of Facetime so she could actively engage with them at all levels. Agnes enjoyed traveling and experiencing life with her church family and her good friends known as the “Queenagers”. She participated in the monthly breakfasts, and book clubs, attending U of E basketball games, concerts, and shopping sprees. Agnes leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory, her husband Donald H. Taylor Sr., daughter Adrienne (Jason) Clotman (Cleveland, OH), and brothers Anthony Ussery (Miami, FL) and David Ussery (Evansville, IN). Forever cherished by her grandchildren, Genesis Cheyenne, Jordan, Aubrey, and a host of family and friends.
